Located in a historic building in downtown Linden, the Waiting Room is positioned off the boutique salon Serendipity Spa and is open to the public for creative cocktails or retail wine, beer, and liquor. The adjacent Beer Garden is a welcoming green space overlooking local landmark Linden Mill and the Shiawassee river, where guests are invited to enjoy local treats from the Cheese Lady of Fenton with their beverages. Owner Keri Burns says their selection of Michigan wines is the best in the area and recommends heading to the bar for a specialty aged ‘Doc’s Old Fashioned’, named after the original owner of the space, Dr. Blythe Sleeman.

On May 6th (otherwise known as Derby Day!), join their annual celebration in your best attire for mint juleps in the Beer Garden from 4-7 pm. Light appetizers and desserts will be served, and prizes given for best hat/fascinator and best dressed. Your $10 ticket includes a post-race shot, but the event is family-friendly, with free entry for those under 5 years old. Tickets are available on Serendipity Spa’s website

Can’t make the ticketed event? Celebratory drink specials will be served during business hours from 11 am until 4 pm. Be sure to follow them on social media for regular updates on fun events!

So what are you waiting for? Head to the Waiting Room at Serendipity Spa of Linden to enjoy a local beverage and meet your neigh-bors!
