At Detroit Flight Path Farms, we believe that farming has the potential to make our environment and our communities better. Agroecology has the power to transform how we farm, and the principle of food sovereignty to transform how we eat. Founded by two Ph.D. wildlife biologists, our goal is to our knowledge to the design of a sustainable, profitable agroforestry system that improves soil quality, sequesters carbon, and champions the preservation of heritage livestock and heirloom crops. We are currently focused on producing pasture raised, forest finished pork. In 2018 we are planting 1100 trees and shrubs to establish a diverse agroforestry system to feed pigs and people.
