Our downtown strolling market is alive with activity, fresh produce, artisans, and local businesses providing an authentic American experience. As you approach the market, you're greeted by the cheerful sounds of live music and the aroma of fresh breakfast at the Village Pub, a festive atmosphere and perfect backdrop for exploring the market and our downtown.
Stalls line the sidewalks, each one overflowing with fruits and vegetables, carefully arranged to showcase their natural beauty. Ripe tomatoes, leafy greens, colorful peppers, root vegetables, plump berries and the scent of freshly picked herbs fills the air. In between the produce stands, you discover a treasure trove of artisanal products. Local bakers offer freshly baked bread, still warm from the oven, alongside flaky pastries and decadent desserts. Nearby, you find stands showcasing small-batch honey, collected from nearby hives, homemade jams and preserves.
As you continue strolling the market, you pass our local storefronts, each contributing to the culture of the community. From our locally owned boutiques to our one-of-a-kind feed store where you can get treats for your pets and for yourself. Strolling our downtown farmers market is more than just a place to shop – it's the heart and soul of the community, where neighbors and visitors come together to celebrate the talents of local farmers and artisans.
The Ortonville Farmers Market is a community market started in 2019. The market is supported by the Ortonville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and provides access to locally grown fruits, vegetables, other farm products, artisans, hand-made goods and crafts. Now in it's sixth year, our downtown strolling market was launched to function as a gathering place in order to promote locally grown and handmade products while creating a sense of community within the Village of Ortonville and helping to revitalize the downtown district.
