About One Man Ranch
David’s story started while growing up on a grain farm. From a young age he was drawn to working on farms and spending time with animals. While he went on to explore other areas of farming, his love and knowledge of ethically farming continued to grow. In 2016 he founded the Michigan cattle farm Kroa Farm in Niles, MI. In 2019, the business was renamed to One Man Ranch.
Not long after starting Kroa Farm, he came in contact with a couple who recently moved to the area from Chicago. When Kroa Farm was first starting off, David was selling a lot of chickens for eggs. As the years have passed the couple he’s spent time mentoring has encouraged him to raise more beef and pork to sell at the Chicago markets. Over the years they’ve grown and have both expanded their businesses together. It’s turned into a beautiful partnership where they can depend on each other.
