Moonstone Farm

Ironwood

It is our mission to raise healthy sheep on healthy land. Our small flock of Bluefaced Leicester/Clun Forest ewes provides a spring shearing of exquisite fleeces for hand spinners, and an annual crop of market lambs. Our lambs are raised on ewe's milk, pasture, and locally grown hay. We graze for as long as our northern climate will allow, rotating our sheep to fresh pasture every few days throughout spring, summer, and fall. In winter, the flock shelters in our 100-year-old barn. Lambing takes place in the barn in April and May, and is timed to coincide with the start of the grazing season. Market lambs generally become available in late fall or early winter.
Our apiary provides us with honey, which we sell raw and unfiltered. We also have a small flock of laying hens who are on pasture May through October.
