The Hearthstone Oven
Hearthstone Oven began in 2007, when the Litwiller family purchased and renovated an existing auto parts business, realizing their dream of providing a place for the community to gather and purchase "made from scratch" bakery items and restaurant meals. The larger dining room was added in 2010, to accomodate the rapidly expanding business. In 2013 the Gable family purchased and began operating the business, embracing the original vision of dedicated community service.
In the Mennonite culture, gathering with friends and family around a table loaded with generous/servings of simple "comfort foods" plays an important role. We strive to recreate that experience each day for our guests. Using old, time-tested recipes and methods, our food is prepared fresh each day in our kitchen.
Over the years we have won many Gratiot County People's Choice awards, including Best Bakery, Best Breakfast, and Best Pie. our baked goods, especially our cookies and cinnamon rolls, have become legendary in the community!
