Open Air Farms

Detroit

Years ago Ris told their spouse, Jasmine, that they wanted to start a farm. Jasmine laughed in disbelief- afterall, Ris knew nothing about farming or growing food. But several years later, Ris made their dream a reality and a uniquely queer, multi-racial farm was born. Committed to using sustainable and regenerative farming practices, Open Air Farms not only strives to provide quality produce, but also to build community where folx can be their authentic selves.

Ris (they/them) was raised in Kailua, Hawaii in a multi-racial family. They enjoy exploring their heritage through growing (and eating) food. Off the farm, you can catch Ris and Jasmine camping, writing cheesy produce puns, drinking beer, and hanging out with their chickens.
