The Michigan State University Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center was established in 1899 and serves as the hub for integrated crop and livestock research for Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The North Farm houses a farm business incubator program, offering opportunities for beginning farmers to live and work with us to learn about sustainable farming in the challenging northern climate of the U.P. We specialize in diversified organic vegetable production, research, education, and outreach for northern climates.
