Hay Creek Heritage Farms, LLC, a small farm dedicated to conserving and promoting rare heritage livestock breeds and heirloom vegetables in Pinckney and Chelsea. The farm has been in operation since 2014. All produce and cut flowers are certified organic through OEFFA. Our animals are raised with care and with access to pasture. We offer a variety of produce and cut flowers through our CSA membership. Our produce is also available at Agricole in Chelsea, Dexter Mill in Dexter, and will be at Acorn Market in Manchester in 2021. We are committed to sustainable farming. In addition to certifying our produce and flower production as organic, we are currently working with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through their Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). This is a voluntary program where we work with NRCS to implement improvements or ‘conservation practices' that benefit both our farming operation as well as our land. In addition to produce and flowers, we raise rare and heritage livestock and poultry, including Oberhasli dairy goats, Shetland & Cheviot sheep, American Buff and Cotton Patch geese, and Naragansett turkeys. We have two Anatolian Shepherds, livestock guardian dogs who live with the animals and protect them from predators. In the last two years, we have added honeybee hives to the property.
