Deeply Rooted Produce (DRP) is a grassroots community run mobile grocery store that is supplied by local (Detroit- and Michigan-based) farmers who use organic methods and standards. We also supply local & imported pantry items to fuel future developments of the City of Detroit. Additionally, we host nutrition education workshops to educate community members about healthy eating and self sufficiency. The mobile grocers set up in the areas that we host the nutrition education workshops and the mobile grocery store to follow the classes. Nutrition workshop participants leave our workshops with increased knowledge and confidence to be able to make smart and healthy eating decisions. We love our community and believe that knowledge increases power and power means freedom.
