Giving Tree Farm is the only certified naturally grown farm in Lansing.

The Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) seal is awarded to farms where the food is grown using the same farming methods as certified organic farms, but has an alternative certification system that has fewer requirements for recordkeeping and lower certification costs for the smaller/local farmer. By this standard, planting genetically engineered crops, and the use of nearly synthetic pesticides is prohibited. The standards require that producers use management practices to prevent pests, weeds, and diseases.
