Black Star Farms – Old Mission

Old Mission Peninsula

Established in 1998, Black Star Farms and the winemaking team has grown to be recognized for providing exquisite wines which represent the dynamic and regionally expressive nature of the region.
Located on the 45th Parallel that runs through some of the great wine regions of the world, Black Star Farms is a medium sized family winery with a hand-crafted approach to making over 40 classic vinifera grape varietal wines and European style brandies of strong character, acidity and balance. Wines reflect this care across the premium Arcturos, A Capella and Leorie labels.
Since 2007, Black Star Farms began operating two separate wine processing facilities that specialize in white and red wine production, the only winery in Northern Michigan with this distinction. The winery and tasting room on Old Mission Peninsula sits in a beautiful location just one mile from Traverse City, with stunning views of orchards, vineyards and the crystal clear waters of the bay. This tasting room welcomes guests to step up to a circular bar, constructed from nine wine barrels, to be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. A 160-acre estate on Leelanau Peninsula houses a winery and tasting room, luxurious Inn, café, equestrian facility and estate vineyard.
Black Star Farms grows all our grapes in Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties.
