Cherry Capital Foods is a unique food distributor based in Traverse City, Michigan. We work with farmers, growers and producers both locally and regionally but only from the state of Michigan.

By focusing on local and Michigan sources, we encourage the growing focus on regional foodsheds as well as support the Michigan economy and environment. We keep duplicate trucks off the road and create efficiencies for our food providers and our customers. One refrigerated truck, one delivery, one invoice – multiple, independent food sources.

Established in 2007, Cherry Capital Foods is still a growing organization. We are able to service most of the state with our facilities in Traverse City and Lansing. We deliver five days a week with our fleet of six refrigerated vehicles in the summer and less often throughout the winter.

Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan

Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan is the area’s mobile food rescue resource and a program of Goodwill Northern Michigan.

Through scheduled pick-ups and deliveries from food donor to recipient locations throughout our five county service area we give healthy, GOOD food to hungry neighbors in need; reduce the costs for food pantries, and similar organizations; keep GOOD food from going to waste and save food donors money through reduced disposal costs and tax benefits.

The Grow Benzie licensed and state-certified commercial kitchen is available for entrepreneurs to produce value-added food products that can be sold online and through retail and wholesale markets. We are a non-profit organization committed to small business initiatives that help our community, helping entrepreneurs get started or to expand their existing food businesses without the costly initial investment in equipment and facilities. This 1,500 sq ft kitchen includes 24-hour access and locked pantry storage for ingredients and products.

SUPPORT SERVICES INCLUDE: marketing, food safety, business, planning, insurance, labeling, licensing, and more.

Manistee Community Kitchen

The Manistee Community Kitchen is a nonprofit organization working to end hunger and obesity in Manistee County.  The Kitchen provides training and support for low-income families so that they can increase their access to fresh produce, and convert that produce into healthy and delicious meals. It brings together players throughout the community, including local businesses, farmers, gardeners and schools.

Programs include:
IRON WORKS CAFE – The Iron Works Cafe is a farm to table cafe located in Downtown Manistee, who aims to feature wonderful local, seasonal flavors in celebration of our community’s rich past and bright future.
FARMER’S MARKET = Join us every Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm, end of May 28th to the beginning of October.  You can find fresh, local foods, entertainment and a cooking demonstratio located in the parking lot on the corner of Memorial Drive and Washington Street (near Oleson’s).
GARDENS – Manistee County Community Gardens supports community gardens through eduction, community engagement, food access initiatives and the development and distribution of best practices.
