This spicy spring recipe is great add to yogurt and granola, cheese and crackers when you’re snacking, or a sauce for desserts! Girl Boss, a pineapple habanero hot sauce from Grand Traverse Sauce Company, brings the heat.
- 8 stalks (1 bunch) rhubarb, chopped
- ½ cup sugar
- Zest of ½ lemon
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tsp (or more) of Girl Boss Hot Sauce
- ½ lb strawberries (if in season, optional)
Place all ingredients except hot sauce in a sauce pan over med low heat. Stir occasionally and simmer for 20-30 minutes until rhubarb is broken down. Add the desired amount of hot sauce. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
