Kutchey Family Farms : Providing Fresh Produce in Macomb

For over 100 years, the Kutchey Family Farm has been growing food in southeast Michigan. In the early 1900’s, the Kutchey family originally laid down roots in Warren, MI. Their farm began with selling eggs, potatoes, and milk out of their farmhouse. When Joe Kutchey Sr. took over his father’s farm in 1956, he expanded the farm by adding fruit and vegetables to the mix. As of 1965, Joe and his wife, Carolyn, along with their young children, purchased 50 acres of land in Macomb Township, where they eventually moved their entire production. In 1979, their oldest son, Joe Jr.  graduated from Michigan State University and returned to the family farm to increase their business yield. Now, the farm covers over 300 acres of land with over a dozen types of fruits and vegetables with the addition of some row crops like soybeans and field corn.

At the Kutchey Family Farm today, you will find the freshest and best of the season –right now the market is full of watermelons, apples, cabbages, greens, and so much more. This family farm is dedicated to bringing fresh produce to their community and harvest their produce fresh daily – rain or shine, just like they did in the farm’s opening in 1957.

Plus, at their farmstand, you can find more than just produce. Year round, their farm market offers a wide line of canned vegetables, pickles, jams, BBQ sauces, salsas and even house-made ketchup. During the fall, they carry apples, cider, and donuts and in winter you can find your holiday wreaths at their farm stand. Any time of year, the Kutchey Family Farm is worth the visit for fresh produce and products right off the farm.
