Nestled in the Leelanau Peninsula, Heartwood Forest Farm is a woman owned and operated USDA Certified Organic farm. With two acres of land dedicated to the pollinators who make the farm possible, Patti Travioli is the farm owner, home herbalist, and horticulturist who carefully tends over acres of herbs, vegetables, and beautiful flowers.
From Anise Hyssop to Zinnia, Heartwood Forest Farm offers a wide array of culinary and medicinal herbs, fresh harvested or bulk dried, transplants, handcrafted soaps and herbal items created from plants grown at the farm. You can find a wide variety available at her online store, which once ordered, can be picked up at the farm or even mailed to your door with Priority USPS shipping. Starting the first week of May, their drying-cabin-turned-farm-store will be open from 2-6pm Thursday through Sunday. Some of her products are also available through the Sara Hardy Online Farmers Market. Once the physical Traverse City market resumes, her products will also be available at the Saturday market.
Not able to get to the market and not sure what to buy for your garden this year? You can book a personal Garden Concierge appointment with Patti! Phone or video call with Patti for a virtual tour and to preview the selection of plants available from her farm. She will offer growing tips for each plant and help coordinate the pick up or delivery to your garden.
In addition to providing her community with delightful plants and herbal products, Patti is dedicated to educating about the benefits of organic growing and regenerative agriculture. Interested persons can apply for an Herb Apprenticeship program or volunteer on her farm to gain insight into the process behind the farm. One day seasonal workshops and classes will also be offered.
