Here’s your easy-peasy way to stock the bar cart with something special: grab a bottle of local gin and a jar of local jam. Voila, you’ve got everything you need to make a quick and festive Gin & Jam cocktail if a guest walks in the door.
Beyond being a quick cocktail to whip up, this recipe is also very customizable! Gin can be expressed in so many different ways. We’ve selected Long Road Distiller‘s Sovereign Gin for its fun color, made possible due to the addition of butterfly pea flower. Then, we selected Farmer White‘s ‘Raspberry Fizz’ jelly, which includes champagne in the flavor profile for an extra celebratory sip!
Gin & Jam Recipe
Yield: 1 cocktail
Ingredients:
- 2 oz local gin
- 1 big spoonful of local jam or jelly
- (Optional) Juice of half a lemon
- Ice
Method:
- Fill a double old-fashioned or cocktail glass with ice.
- Add more ice and all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, and shake vigorously.
- Strain over the glass. Optionally, serve with an herb sprig (rosemary, an evergreen, complements the juniper notes in gin!)
- Serve!
