Michigan – Taste the Local Difference is proud to announce the publication of their 2023 Local Food Guide! This 100-page magazine celebrates Michigan’s local food culture and the food businesses that make it all possible.
“The 2023 Local Food Guide showcases some of the brilliant things Michigan food systems players are up to,” says Emily Row, Media & Brand Manager of Taste the Local Difference. “Among pages of local listings and recipes, this guide features stories of distillers using Michigan grains, incubator kitchens providing resources to new businesses, and zeroes in on the farm to school movement in Michigan.”
Within the pages of this year’s Guide, readers will find stories highlighting all our state has to offer including seven seasonal recipes, a food assistance resource page, and a guide to limiting food waste at home. The 2023 Local Food Guide lists food businesses across the entire state of Michigan, but is separated into hyper local regions to make it easy to find local food sources. Throughout the Guide, there are QR codes that help the reader jump to Taste the Local Difference’s searchable digital directory for market hours, CSA information, and much more.
From the Keweenaw Peninsula to Detroit, the Local Food Guide is freely distributed at farmers markets, cafés, libraries, welcome centers, and more. Each region of Michigan will host a Guide Release Party in June that the whole community is welcome to join. Please check TLD’s blog for additional party dates and times! For those that can’t attend, folks looking for local can also get the 2022 Guide delivered to their door!
