Did you know that International Carrot Day is April 4th? Celebrate this year-round local treat with a great brunch cocktail using products from Michigan distillers!

Carrot French 75
- 1 oz of gin (Pictured: Journeyman Distillery Bilberry Black Hearts Gin )
- 3 oz of sparkling wine (Pictured: Mawby ‘Us’)
- .5 oz of lemon juice
- 1 oz of carrot juice
- 1 oz of ginger simple syrup (see additional recipe, below)
In a cocktail shaker, add gin, lemon juice, carrot juice, and ginger simple syrup. Add ice and shake for 20-30 seconds. Pour into a champagne flute. Top off with 3 oz of sparkling wine. Garnish with carrot slice and serve!
Ginger Simple Syrup
- 1 – 1 1/2 inch piece of ginger, skin removed and roughly chopped
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
Combine simple syrup ingredients together in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and discard ginger. Set aside.
