Mark Your Calendars! 2023 Michigan Farmers Market Events

Are you ready for market season? Summer means stalls brimming with fresh food, handmade goods and community found in every market in Michigan. For select markets, this also means special events! Make sure to mark your calendar for these upcoming events at farmers markets throughout the state!

Strawberry Festival at the Chelsea Farmers Market

A woman is dressed in a strawberry costume, holding strawberries, at the Chelsea Farmers Market.

Plan on an early arrival to snag a strawberry shortcake for the 3rd Annual Strawberry Festival in Chelsea! On June 17th, the market will be selling these treats using locally-sourced Kapnick Orchards strawberries to support their Children’s Tent, a space for youth engagement which hosts anything from yoga to market scavenger hunts to crafts to pollinator activities. Shortcakes are $6, or 2 for $10, and are available gluten-free. Head to their Facebook or Instagram page to stay tuned for more!

Decades of Deliciousness at the Boyne City Farmers Market

Celebrate 40 years of local food in Boyne City! A summer-long list of special events at each Wednesday and Saturday farmers market in Veteran’s Memorial Park includes live music from local musicians, Kid’s Corner activities, and pop-up hot food selections. Beyond the celebratory markets, join their Food Truck Rally on July 20th for another chance to eat local up north. Find more details on their website

Experience the Arts with the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market

The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market, sponsored by Flagstar Bank, will be expanding from its usual fare into the arts world this year! In partnership with the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center, the new Wednesday Evening Street Market from 5-8pm welcomes local artists to share their creations. There is currently an open call for Michigan artisans to participate in the June 21st Art Week Market opener!

Start ‘Em Young at the Harbor Springs Farmers Market

Bring your youngest eaters to Harbor Springs Farmers Market’s Kid’s Days on June 17th, July 15th, and August 12th!
