2022 Local Food Guide Release Parties

It’s time to celebrate our 2022 Local Food Guide! Throughout the state, we will host free events at our partners’ locations to share our fresh guide and connect with the community. Each of these events will be unique, but there will be free guides and an opportunity to connect with other local food lovers. ( Can’t make any of these events? Get the 2022 Guide delivered to your door! )

The Schedule:

Mid Michigan

Where: Old Town General Store, Lansing
When: Wednesday, June 8th, 5-8 PM

Additional Info: Old Town General Store offers a wonderful selection of Michigan-made snacks, sweets, and sundries, and wine as well a large and varied selection of Michigan-themed/made gifts items. Explore this shop, meet some local vendors to set up, and sample their delightful wares!

Central UP

Where: Barrel + Beam, Marquette
When: Thursday June 9th, 4:30-5:30pm 

Additional Info: Barrel + Beam is the region’s first brewery solely focused on farmhouse and barrel-aged beer and cider. Enjoy a draft during Happy Hour, light refreshments, and door prizes from area local food partners.

Northeast Michigan

Where: The Fresh Palate, Alpena
When: Thursday, June 9th, 6 – 7:30pm 

Additional Info: The Fresh Palate has been on the forefront of the local food movement in NE Michigan and regularly sources vegetables, fruit, meat, and fish from the Alpena Farmers Market and local farms. Drinks and light refreshments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where: Les Cheneaux Distillers, Cedarville
When: Friday June 10th, 4:00-6:00pm 

Additional Info: With a full menu and family friendly atmosphere, Les Cheneaux Distillers is a microdistillery, microbrewery & restaurant located in the beautiful Les Cheneaux Islands! Attend this event for a chance to win small door prizes from Les Cheneaux Distillers and other local businesses. Indoors or patio weather dependent.

Where: Cafe Mamo, Grand Rapids
When: Monday, June 13, 5-7pm

Additional Info: Cafe Mamo is an American restaurant inspired by Grandma’s Garden. Guests can enjoy a happy hour with Michigan wine by the glass and meet area farmers on the patio.

Where: Providence Organic Farm and Cafe, Central Lake
Date: Monday, June 13th, 4:30-6:30 PM

Additional Info: Providence Organic Farm is an on-farm organic market, farm-to-you café, full organic espresso & tea bar with outdoor seating, AND a natural food store. Guests can enjoy kombucha on tap, mocktails and local beverage samplings, appetizers and other local fare. And fingers crossed, U-Pick Strawberries!

Where: FOLK, Detroit
When: Friday, June 17th, 4-6 pm

Additional Info: Folk is a neighborhood market, wine shop, and café. This business aims to support our entire eco-system by positively impacting every link in its chain: our sources, our team, our community, our customers and our environment. Enjoy Folk’s curated market and wine shop and get to meet the ladies on the cover of this year’s guide, Rohani and Candi! Farmer Candi of CWO Farms will have a pop-up farm stand on the patio and offers a free herb bundle with any farm stand purchase. Shady Lane Cellars will also be there to provide Michigan wine samples.

Where: Table of Contents Cafe , Kalamazoo
When: Friday, June 17th, 4-7pm

Additional Info: Table of Contents is a locally owned and independent cafe that curates their menu by collaborating with as many Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Midwest-based artisans and organizations as possible. Stop in to pick up a fresh Local Food Guide and meet our newest team member, Neil!

Date: Saturday June 18th, 10am-2pm

Additional Info: Main Street Calumet Market provides locally grown products including produce, maple syrup, honey, coffee, baked goods and much more. Shop the market and pick up your 2022 Local Food Guide!

Where: Argus Packard Cafe, Ann Arbor
When: Wednesday, June 22nd, 4-7 pm

Additional Info: The Argus Packard Cafe is a cafe, a tavern, a community space, a place to select a great lunch or meal made locally, and order a wide array of beverages as well! Check out this year-round, every-day farmers market space!
